IDRS education and training aims to:

  • Ensure the wider community respects and responds to the rights and needs of people with intellectual disability
  • Empower people with intellectual disability to understand and advocate for their legal and human rights
  • Enable advocates and disability workers to protect the rights of people with intellectual disability

We do this by:

  • Teaching people with intellectual disability about their rights and responsibilities
  • Educating advocates about common legal issues faced by people with intellectual disability
  • Training volunteers to support people with intellectual disability

IDRS works with other organisations to develop ideas to achieve and promote these goals.
